Asbestos Soil Remediation in Auckland

Soil can become contaminated with asbestos when Super Six roofing weathers over decades, when old sheds or houses are demolished, or when asbestos debris has been buried on a property. JP Franklin assesses the extent of contamination, removes affected soil safely without spreading fibres, and helps return the land to safe use.

FAQ

Asbestos Soil Remediation: common questions

Can’t see your question? Call us or send a message – we’re happy to help.

How does soil become contaminated with asbestos?

The most common causes are decades of weathering from Super Six roofs (fibres wash off into gutters and the ground), broken sheets left on site, demolition of old buildings and buried construction debris.

Do I need to test the soil around my asbestos roof?

If your Super Six roof is heavily weathered, you grow vegetables near the house, or you are planning earthworks, it is sensible to have the soil around the drip line and downpipes tested.

Can contaminated land be used again?

Yes. Once contaminated soil is removed and validation testing shows the area is clear, the land can return to normal use.
